Hadith #12
وَ سُئِلَ اَلْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ مَا حَدُّ اَلْغَائِطِ قَالَ «لاَ تَسْتَقْبِلِ اَلْقِبْلَةَ وَ لاَ تَسْتَدْبِرْهَا وَ لاَ تَسْتَقْبِلِ اَلرِّيحَ وَ لاَ تَسْتَدْبِرْهَا.
Imam Hasan ibn Ali
عليه السلام
was asked about the proper etiquette for relieving oneself. Imam
عليه السلام
said: "Do not face the Qibla (direction of prayer) or turn your back to it, and do not face the wind or turn your back to it”.
