Hadith.117 - Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir عليه السلام said:
"Indeed, the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم frequently used siwak (tooth cleaning), but it is not obligatory, so it will not harm you if you leave it for a few days”.
is permissible for a fasting person to use siwak at any time of the day in Month of Ramadan, and for someone in a state of ihram (pilgrim's state) to use siwak. However, using siwak in the bathhouse is discouraged, as it is believed to harm the teeth.
The siwak is part of the Hanifye Ibraheem sunnah, which consists of ten Sunnahs: five for the head and five for the body.
As for those related to the head, they are; rinsing the mouth, cleaning the nose, using siwak, trimming the mustache, and parting the hair. Those who do not part their hair will have it parted by a saw of fire on the Day of Judgment.
As for those related to the body, they are; Cleansing after relieving oneself (istinja), circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, clipping the nails, and plucking the armpit hair.
