Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid narrated to us. He said: Al-Hasan b. Matil narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi’l Khattab narrated to us from Musa b. Sa`dan from `Abdullah b. al-Qasim from `Amr b. Aban al-Kalbi from Aban b. Taghlub. He said: Abu `Abdillah al-Sadiq said:

Four thousand angels came down to fight alongside al-Husayn b. `Ali , but they were not permitted to fight. So, they went back to seek permission, and they came down [again], but al-Husayn had been killed. So, they are at his grave, disheveled and weeping, until the Day of Resurrection. Their chief is an angel called Mansur (the victorious one).
