Al-Husayn b. Ibrahim b. Ahmad b. Hisham al-Mu’addab narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Isma`il al-Barmaki narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. Ahmad narrated to us. He said: Sulayman b. Ja`far al-Ja`fari narrated to me. He said:

I said to Abi’l Hasan Musa b. Ja`far : O son of the Messenger of Allah! What do you say regarding the Quran, for some of us have disagreed regarding it? One group says it is created, [another] group says it is not created. So, he said: I do not say what they say, but rather I say that it is the word of Allah.
