Also, `Ali عليه السلام said: The bed of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم was a cloak. His furnishing was mud. His padding was fibre. I folded [his bed] for him one night [to double its thickness], and when he awoke in the morning, he said: “The bed had prevented me from the night prayer.” So, he صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم ordered that he [only] be given a single layer.
