Al-Husayn b. Ibrahim b. Ahmad b. Hashim al-Mu’addab narrated to us. He said: Abu’l `Abbas Ahmad b. Yahya b. Zakariyya al-Qattan narrated to us. He said: Bakr b. `Abdullah b. Habib narrated to us. He said: Tamim b. Bahlul narrated to us. He said: Ja`far b. `Uthman al-Ahwal narrated to us. He said: Sulayman b. Mehran narrated to us. He said: I visited al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad , and with him was a delegation of Shi`a. So, I heard him say:

O Shi`a! Be an adornment for us, and do not be a disgrace for us. Speak beautifully to the people. Guard your tongues and stop them from superfluous and ugly sayings.
