We were told by my father, may Allah grant him mercy, that he said: We were told by Sa’d bin Abdullah, that he said: We were told by Muhammed bin ‘Isa, from Yunus bin Abdul-Rahman, from Rabee’ bin Muslim, that he said: I heard Abu’l-Hasan, peace be upon him, when he was asked about al-Samad [1], to which he said:

Al-Samad is He who has no interior.
