أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِیمَ بْنِ مَهْزِیَارَ عَنْ أَخِیهِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مَهْزِیَارَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِی عُمَیْرٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ یُونُسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:
مَا مِنْ شَیْ ءٍ إِلَّا وَ لَهُ کَیْلٌ وَ وَزْنٌ إِلَّا الدُّمُوعَ فَإِنَّ الْقَطْرَهَ مِنْهَا تُطْفِئُ بِحَاراً مِنْ نَارٍ وَ إِذَا اغْرَوْرَقَتِ الْعَیْنُ بِمَائِهَا لَمْ یَرْهَقْ وَجْهَهُ قَتَرٌ وَ لا ذِلَّهٌ فَإِذَا فَاضَتْ حَرَّمَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَی النَّارِ وَ لَوْ أَنَّ بَاکِیاً بَکَی فِی أُمَّهٍ لَرُحِمُوا.
1. My father 
said: it was narrated to me by Abdillah b. Ja’far from Ibrahim b. Mahziyar from his brother Ali b. Mahziyar from Ibn Abi ’Umayr from Mansur b. Yunis from Muhammad b. Marwan from Abi Abdillah 
who said:
“There is nothing but that it has a measure and a weight except the tears. For indeed a drop of it can extinguish a sea of fire. And when ones eyes are filled with tears, his face will never see poverty or disgrace. And when tears are flowing, Allah prohibits the fire of Hell on it and even if one person is weeping the whole community is dealt with mercy (by Allah).”
