2-11 Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Walid - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn al-Hassan al-Saffar quoted on the authority of Muhammad ibn Abdul Jab’bar, on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Faz’zal, on the authority of Zarif ibn Nasih, on the authority of Ibrahim ibn Yahya, on the authority of Ja’far ibn Muhammad (MGB), on the authority of his father (MGB) that God’s Prophet (MGB) said,

“The Blessed the Sublime God has divided the people on the Earth into two groups and placed me in the better one. Then he divided that group into three parts and I was in the best part. Then he chose the Quraysh from amongst the Arabs, chose the children of Abdul Mutalib from amongst the Hashemites , and chose me from amongst the children of Abdul Mutalib.”
