1-92 Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Attar - may God be pleased with him- narrated that his father quoted on the authority of Sahl ibn Zyad, on the authority of Abu Nasr Muhammad ibn Ja’far ibn Aqabah, on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Muhammad ibn Ukht Abi Malik, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Sin’an that Abolvahid ibn al-Mukhtar said,

“I asked Aba Ja’far al-Baqir (MGB) about playing chess. He (MGB) replied, ‘A believer avoids playing it.’”
