The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى have mercy on him, said: “Whoever breaks the fast without an excuse while he is observing ritual seclusion (mutakif), or has intercourse, then what is obligatory upon the one who does that deliberately in the month of Ramadan without an excuse is obligatory upon him.”
