That is because making it up (qada) only became obligatory in this report because Imam عليه السلام began eating and drinking and did not look for dawn. And whoever does that, his ruling is what we have mentioned. The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى bless him, said: “And if he asks someone else about dawn, and he informs him that it has not risen, so he relies upon him and eats and drinks, then later learns that it had risen, making it up (qada) is upon him.”
