The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى have mercy on him, said: “There is no harm in paying gold in place of silver according to the value, and paying silver in place of gold according to the value, and paying barley in place of wheat according to its value, and paying wheat in place of barley according to its value.”
