فان كان الذي يتقدم نائبا عن الامام قد فاتته ركعة أو ركعتان من الصلاة فليتم بهم الصلاة ثم ليؤم ايماءا فيكون ذلك انصرافهم عن الصلاة ويتم هو ما بقي عليه روى ذلك

So if the one who steps forward as a deputy for the imam (of prayer) has missed a rak’ah or two of the prayer, then let him complete the prayer with them, and then indicate with a gesture to lead them (in concluding), so that this gesture serves as their dismissal from the prayer, and then he may complete what remains upon him.
