Commentary #23

ومتى فرغ المأموم من قراءته قبل فراغ الامام فليسبح الله تعالى أو ليبق آية من سورته حتى إذا فرغ الامام من قراءته اتمها فاي ذلك فعل فقد أجزأه

And when the follower (in prayer) finishes his recitation before the imam (of prayer) finishes his, then let him glorify Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, or let him withhold one verse from his Surah so that when the imam finishes his recitation, he may complete it. Whichever of these he does, it is valid for him.
