فلو كان ذكر الصلاة خير من النوم من السنة لما سوغ له تكرار اللفظ والعدول عما هو السنة الى تكرار اللفظ وتكرار اللفظ إنما يجوز إذا اريد به تنبيه انسان على الصلاة أو انتظار آخر أو ما أشبه ذلك يبين ذلك ما رواه
So if the mention of ‘al-salatu khayrun min al-nawm’ were from the Sunnah, He عليه السلام would not have been permitted to repeat the phrase or to deviate from what is the Sunnah by repeating it. Repeating the phrase is only allowed when the intention is to alert someone to prayer, or to wait for another person, or for something similar. This is clarified by what has been narrated:
