The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, said: "It is not permissible to give the adhan for any of the prayers before their time has entered," up to his statement: "And there is no harm if a person gives the adhan while not in a state of ritual purity (wuduʾ)."
