For indeed, these two narrations are to be understood as being related to a form of ‘taqiyyah’ (dissimulation), because they are in agreement with the doctrines of the common (Sunni) sects. And Abu Ja‘far Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Babawayh, may Allah سبحانه وتعالى have mercy on him, said: "I issue legal verdicts (‘fatawa’) based on them in situations of ‘taqiyyah’."
