Then the Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, said: "It is not appropriate for a junub person to immerse themselves in stagnant water, as it would spoil it if the water is small in quantity." The reasoning behind this is that the junub person is treated as ritually impure until they perform ghusl. Thus, if they come into contact with water that is susceptible to impurity, it becomes invalid. This does not contradict the narration mentioned.
