This narration is interpreted as referring to a recommendation (mustahab) rather than an obligation (wajib), based on the previously mentioned narrations. Then the Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, said: "If the water is a kurr (approximately 1,200 Iraqi ratls), it does not become impure even if it is stagnant."
