The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, said: "Nothing from the shroud of the deceased should be cut with iron, nor should fire be brought near it, whether with incense or anything else." The compiler of this book said: "We heard this mentioned in discussions with the scholars - may Allah سبحانه وتعالى have mercy on them - and it was their practice to follow this ruling."
