Hadith #394

عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) مَا كَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله) الْعِبَادَ بِكُنْهِ عَقْلِهِ قَطُّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله) إِنَّا مَعَاشِرَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ عَلَى قَدْرِ عُقُولِهِمْ.

394. From him, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Fazzaal, from one of our companions who said: Abu Abdullah (asws) said: ‘The Rasool Allah (saww) did not speak to the servants in accordance with his (saww) own reasoning and intellect, at all. The Rasool Allah (saww) said: ‘The group of Prophets (as), we (as) have been Commanded that we (as) should speak to the people in accordance with their intellects’.
