Book 1, Chapter 362

Claim to be the Imam without qualification
1 Ḥadīth

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍعَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) إِنَّ مِمَّنْ يَنْتَحِلُ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ لَيَكْذِبُ حَتَّى إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَيَحْتَاجُ إِلَى كَذِبِهِ.


362. Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr, from Hashaam Bin Saalim who said: Abu Abdullah (a.s) said: ‘Whosoever (other than us (a.s)) claims to have the Command (Wilayah), he has lied to the extent that the Satan (la) would be needy of his lie’.
