عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ السَّرْجُ مَرْكَبٌ مَلْعُونٌ لِلنِّسَاءِ.
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from certain persons of his people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘The saddle is a condemned riding thing for women.”’
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ جُلُودِ السِّبَاعِ فَقَالَ ارْكَبُوهَا وَ لَا تَلْبَسُوا شَيْئاً مِنْهَا تُصَلُّونَ فِيهِ .
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah who has said the following: “Once abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, was asked about the skins of beasts. He (the Imam) said, ‘You can use them when riding but you must not use them during performing Salat (prayer).”’
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنِ الْعَمْرَكِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ السَّرْجِ وَ اللِّجَامِ فِيهِ الْفِضَّةُ أَ يُرْكَبُ بِهِ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ مُمَوَّهاً لَا يُقْدَرُ عَلَى نَزْعِهِ فَلَا بَأْسَ وَ إِلَّا فَلَا تَرْكَبْ بِهِ .
3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from al-‘Amrakiy ibn Ali from Ali ibn Ja‘far from his brother abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about the saddle and the rein in which silver is used; if it can be used. He (the Imam) said, ‘If it is in a whitewashing (painted) form which cannot be removed, then it is not harmful, otherwise, you must not ride with it.’”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَنَانِ بْنِ سَدِيرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) لِعَلِيٍّ ( عليه السلام ) إِيَّاكَ أَنْ تَرْكَبَ مِيثَرَةً حَمْرَاءَ فَإِنَّهَا مِيثَرَةُ إِبْلِيسَ .
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il from his father from Hanan ibn Sadir who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, once said to Ali, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, ‘You must never use a red saddlecloth; it is the saddlecloth of Satan.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي يَحْيَى الْمَدِينِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ ( عليه السلام ) كَانَ يَرْكَبُ عَلَى قَطِيفَةٍ حَمْرَاءَ .
5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn Ali from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Hashim from Ibrahim ibn abu Yahya al-Madiniy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, rode on a piece of marigold red color cloth.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَمُّونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مِسْمَعِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ كَانَتْ بُرَةُ نَاقَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مِنْ فِضَّةٍ .
6. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Shammun from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman from Misma‘ ibn ‘Abd al-Malik who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the ring in the nostrils of the camel of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, was made of silver.’”
