Al-Kāfi - Volume 6 > Mixing of Dead Animals with Slaughtered Clean
Hadith #1

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ كَانَتْ لَهُ غَنَمٌ وَ بَقَرٌ وَ كَانَ يُدْرِكُ الذَّكِيَّ مِنْهَا فَيَعْزِلُهُ وَ يَعْزِلُ الْمَيْتَةَ ثُمَّ إِنَّ الْمَيْتَةَ وَ الذَّكِيَّ اخْتَلَطَا فَكَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ بِهِ فَقَالَ يَبِيعُهُ مِمَّنْ يَسْتَحِلُّ الْمَيْتَةَ وَ يَأْكُلُ ثَمَنَهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ .

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “Once abu ‘ Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, was asked about the case of a man who had sheep and cows and he separated the clean and the dead then they became mixed and about what he should do. He (the Imam) said, ‘He can sell it to one who considers dead animals lawful then use what he receives as payment; it is not unlawful.’”



Hadith #2

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ إِذَا اخْتَلَطَ الذَّكِيُّ وَ الْمَيْتَةُ بَاعَهُ مِمَّنْ يَسْتَحِلُّ الْمَيْتَةَ وَ يَأْكُلُ ثَمَنَهُ .

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from abu al-Mighra’ from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘If clean (properly slaughtered) become mixed with the dead ones, one can sell them to one who considers dead animals as lawful and use the payment that one receives.’”
