Ḥadīth 5336

5336 - فِي رِوَايَةِ اَلسَّكُونِيِّ : "أَنَّ أَمِيرَ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ كَانَ يَقْضِي فِي كُلِّ مَفْصِلٍ مِنَ اَلْأَصَابِعِ بِثُلُثِ عَقْلِ تِلْكَ اَلْأَصَابِعِ إِلاَّ اَلْإِبْهَامَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْضِي فِي مَفْصِلِهَا بِنِصْفِ عَقْلِ تِلْكَ اَلْإِبْهَامِ لِأَنَّ لَهَا مَفْصِلَيْنِ".

Hadith.5336 - In a narration from Al-Sakuni, it is reported that Commander of the Faithful (as) ruled that for every joint in the fingers, the compensation (diyyah) would be one-third of the full blood money of that finger, except for the thumb. For the thumb, he ruled that the compensation for its joint would be half of its total blood money because it has two joints.
