٢٥٧. وَقَالَ (عليه ‏السلام) لِكُمَيْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ النَّخَعِيِّ: يَا كُمَيْلُ، مُرْ أَهْلَكَ أَنْ يَرُوحُوا فِي كَسْبِ الْمَكَارِمِ، وَيُدْلِجُوا فِي حَاجَةِ مَنْ هُوَ نائِمٌ، فَوَالَّذِي وَسِعَ سَمْعُهُ الْأَصْوَاتَ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْدَعَ قَلْباً سُرُوراً إِلَّا وَخَلَقَ اللهُ لَهُ مِنْ ذلِكَ السُّرُورِ لُطْفاً، فَإِذَا نَزَلَتْ بِهِ نَائِبَةٌ جَرَى إلَيْهَا كَالْمَاءِ فِي انْحِدَارِهِ حَتَّى يَطْرُدَهَا عَنْهُ كَمَا تُطْرَدُ غَرِيبَةُ الْإِبِلِ.

257. Amīr al-mu’minīn, peace be upon him, said to Kumayl ibn Ziyād an-Nakha‘ī: O’ Kumayl, direct your people to go out in the day to achieve noble traits and to go out in the night to meet the needs of those who might be sleeping, for I swear by Him Whose hearing extends to all voices if ever someone pleases another’s heart, Allāh will create a special thing out of this pleasing so that whenever any hardship befalls him it will come running like flowing water and drive away the hardship as wild camels are driven away.

257. (Il dit à Koumail bin Ziad al Nakh’i); O Koumail, ordonne aux tiens de vaguer l’après-midi au gain des actions nobles et généreuses et de marcher au début de la nuit pour combler les besoins des dormants Par Celui dont l’ouïe entend toutes les voix, Celui qui remplit le cœur d’un autre de plaisirs Dieu lui est fort sympathique.
