My father, may Allah grant him mercy, said: We were told by Sa’d bin Abdullah, from Ahmad bin Abi Abdillah al-Barqi, from some of our companions, that he ascribed it, saying: Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, said: The overcoming is the one who overcomes with goodness, and the overcome is the one who overcomes with evil, and the believer is harnessed.
