Hadith

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى اَلْعَطَّارُ رَحِمَهُ اَللَّهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ قَالَ : إِنَّ اَللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى خَصَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎ بِمَكَارِمِ اَلْأَخْلاَقِ فَامْتَحِنُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ فِيكُمْ فَاحْمَدُوا اَللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ اِرْغَبُوا إِلَيْهِ فِي اَلزِّيَادَةِ مِنْهَا فَذَكَرَهَا عَشَرَةً اَلْيَقِينَ وَ اَلْقَنَاعَةَ وَ اَلصَّبْرَ وَ اَلشُّكْرَ وَ اَلْحِلْمَ وَ حُسْنَ اَلْخُلُقِ وَ اَلسَّخَاءَ وَ اَلْغَيْرَةَ وَ اَلشَّجَاعَةَ وَ اَلْمُرُوءَةَ.

Ahmad b. Mohammed b. Yahya al-Attar (rah) narrated to us from his father from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. 'Isa from Uthman b. 'Isa from Abdullah b. Meskan that Abu Abdullah (as) said: Allah has given Rasulullah (s) the nobilities of character exclusively. You should test yourselves through such characters. If you have them all, you should thank Allah and seek more. These are ten: conviction, satisfaction, tolerance, thankfulness, clemency, good mannerism, openhandedness, sense of honor, courage, and personality.
