1. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā ibn ‘Ubayd, from Muĥammad ibn Ismā’ǐl Al-Bašri, from some of his scholars, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: The clay of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.) is a cure for every disease. When you eat it, recite (the following): (I start) in the name of Allāh and by Allāh. O Allāh! Make it (the cause of) extensive sustenance and beneficial knowledge (for me) and make it my cure from every disease. Verily You have power over all things.

2. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā, who narrated the following through a chain which he had forgotten: When you eat the clay of the grave of Ĥusain (a.s.), you should say: O Lord of this blessed dust! And O Lord of this Successor who is buried in it! Send Your blessing on Muĥammad and the family of Muĥammad and make it (the cause of) beneficial knowledge and extensive sustenance (for me) and my cure from every disease.

3. Ĥasan ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Muĥammad ibn ‘Isā narrated to me from his father, from Ĥasan ibn Maĥbūb, from Mālik ibn ‘Aťiyyah, from his father, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Šādiq (a.s.)) said: When you take from the clay of the Oppressed One (Imam Ĥusain (a.s.)) and place it in your mouth, recite (the following): O Allāh! I ask You through the right of this dust, through the right of the angel who held it, through the right of the Prophet who embraced it, and through the right of the Imam who is buried in it to send Your blessing on Muĥammad and the family of Muĥammad, and to allow it to be a beneficial cure and an extensive sustenance for me, and (allow it) to be my protection against any fear and disease. Verily if you recite this, Allāh will cure you and bestow you with good health.
