1 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَتِّيلٍ وَ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ وَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ جَمِيعاً عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أَيُّوبَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْخَزَّازُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) قَالَ مُرُوا شِيعَتَنَا بِزِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَإِنَّ إِتْيَانَهُ مُفْتَرَضٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ- يُقِرُّ لِلْحُسَيْنِ (ع) بِالْإِمَامَةِ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ

1. My father and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan both narrated to me from Ḥasan ibn Mattīl, and from Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan Al-Saffār, from Aḥmad ibn Abī ‘Abdillāh Al-Barqi, from Ḥasan ibn ‘Ali ibn Faďďāl, from Abī Ayyūb Ibrāhīm ibn ‘Uthmān Al-Kazzāz, from Muḥammad ibn Muslim, who said: Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) said: Order our Shia to go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.). Verily going to his Ziyārah is obligatory on every believer who testifies that Ḥusain (a.s.) is an Imam appointed by Allāh, the Great and Almighty.

2 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ أَخِي وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ رَحِمَهُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِيعاً عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الرِّضَا (ع) يَقُولُ إِنَّ لِكُلِّ إِمَامٍ عَهْداً فِي عُنُقِ أَوْلِيَائِهِ وَ شِيعَتِهِ وَ إِنَّ مِنْ تَمَامِ الْوَفَاءِ بِالْعَهْدِ وَ حُسْنِ الْأَدَاءِ زِيَارَةَ قُبُورِهِمْ فَمَنْ زَارَهُمْ رَغْبَةً فِي زِيَارَتِهِمْ وَ تَصْدِيقاً لِمَا رَغِبُوا فِيهِ كَانَ أَئِمَّتُهُمْ شُفَعَاءَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْكُلَيْنِيُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ مِثْلَهُ سَوَاءً

2. My father, my brother, ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain, and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan all narrated to me from Aḥmad ibn Idrīs, from ‘Ubaydillāh ibn Mūsā, from Al-Washā, who said: I heard Imam Riďā (a.s.) say: There is a binding contract on every Shia and follower toward his Imam and the most perfect and beautiful way to fulfill this contract is to go to the Ziyārah of the grave of that Imam. On the Day of Judgment, the Imams (a.s.) will intercede for those who go to their Ziyārah while longing for it and believing in that which they have been ordered to believe. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muḥammad ibn Ya’qūb Al-Kulayni, from Aḥmad ibn Idrīs, from ‘Ubaydillāh ibn Mūsā, from Al-Washā, from Imam Riďā (a.s.).

3 حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّزَّازُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ الْمُسْتَرِقِّ عَنْ أُمِّ سَعِيدٍ الْأَحْمَسِيَّةِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَتْ قَالَ لِي يَا أُمَّ سَعِيدٍ تَزُورِينَ قَبْرَ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ لِي زُورِيهِ فَإِنَّ زِيَارَةَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ وَاجِبَةٌ عَلَى الرِّجَالِ وَ النِّسَاءِ

3. Muḥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Abī Dāwūd Al-Mustariq, from Um Sa’īd Al-Aḥmasiyyah, who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) asked me, “O Um Sa’īd! Do you go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.)?” I replied, “Yes.” Imam (a.s.) said, “Go to his Ziyārah, for verily going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) is WĀJIB (mandatory) on both men and women.”

4 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ رَحِمَهُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِيعاً عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَتِّيلٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْكُوفِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ الْهَاشِمِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ حَجَّ دَهْرَهُ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزُرِ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ (ع) لَكَانَ تَارِكاً حَقّاً مِنْ حُقُوقِ اللَّهِ وَ حُقُوقِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) لِأَنَّ حَقَّ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَرِيضَةٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَاجِبَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

4. My father and Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan both narrated to me from Ḥasan ibn Mattīl, from Ḥasan ibn ‘Ali Al-Kūfi, from ‘Ali ibn Ḥassān Al-Hāshimi, from ‘Abdil Raḥmān ibn Kuthayr – the servant of Abī Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)), who said: Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Even if you go to Hajj every year of your life but do not go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.), you have abandoned one of your obligations toward Allāh and His Messenger (s.a.a.w.). Verily Allāh has made it mandatory (on the believers to fulfill) the right(s) of Ḥusain (a.s.), and this (Ziyārah) is obligatory on every Muslim.
