Punishment of not punishing a criminal

Ḥadīth 1

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ أَبِی الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخُرَاسَانِیِّ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: أَیُّمَا نَاشٍ نَشَأَ فِی قَوْمِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ یُؤَدَّبْ عَلَی مَعْصِیَتِهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَوَّلُ مَا یُعَاقِبُهُمْ بِهِ أَنْ یَنْقُصَ مِنْ أَرْزَاقِهِمْ.

1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to us by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Muhammad b. al-Hussain b. Abi al-Khattab from Abdillah al-Khorasani from al-Hussain b. Salim from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “If a person brought up in his community commits sins and people do not punish him from his crimes, the first chastisement from Allah upon them is that their sustenance will be reduced.”
