Reward of the poor and those who do good to them

Ḥadīth #1

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ یَعْقُوبَ بْنِ یَزِیدَ عَمَّنْ ذَکَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: إِذَا کَانَ یَوْمُ الْقِیَامَهِ أَمَرَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مُنَادِیاً یُنَادِی أَیْنَ الْفُقَرَاءُ فَیَقُومُ عُنُقٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَیُؤْمَرُ بِهِمْ إِلَی الْجَنَّهِ فَیَأْتُونَ بَابَ الْجَنَّهِ فیقولون [فَیَقُولُ] لَهُمْ خَزَنَهُ الْجَنَّهِ قَبْلَ الْحِسَابِ فَیَقُولُونَ أَعْطَیْتُمُونَا شَیْئاً فَتُحَاسِبُوا عَلَیْهِ فَیَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ صَدَقُوا عِبَادِی مَا أَفْقَرْتُکُمْ هَوَاناً بِکُمْ وَ لَکِنِ ادَّخَرْتُ هَذَا لَکُمْ لِهَذَا الْیَوْمِ ثُمَّ یَقُولُ لَهُمُ انْظُرُوا وَ تَصَفَّحُوا وُجُوهَ النَّاسِ فَمَنْ أَتَی إِلَیْکُمْ مَعْرُوفاً فَخُذُوا بِیَدِهِ وَ أَدْخِلُوهُ الْجَنَّهَ.

1. My father (r.h) said: it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from Ya’qub b. Yazid from the one who mentioned it from Abi Abdillah (a.s) who said: Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s) said that the Almighty Allah will order a caller on the Day of Judgment to call out for the poor ones. Some people will stand up and they will be ordered to go to Paradise. When they reach the door of Paradise, they will be asked, “Do you want to go to Paradise even before accounting of deeds?” They will reply, “Were we given something whose account we should give?” Almighty Allah will say, “My servants! You are right. I didn’t give you poverty to disgrace you but for this day. Go among the people and see. Whoever did good to you, hold his hand and make him enter Paradise along with you.”

حَدَّثَنِی حَمْزَهُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَلَوِیُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص یَا مَعْشَرَ الْمَسَاکِینِ طِیبُوا نَفْساً وَ أَعْطُوا الرِّضَا مِنْ قُلُوبِکُمْ یُثَبِّتْکُمُ اللَّهُ عَلَی فَقْرِکُمْ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلُوا فَلَا ثَوَابَ لَکُمْ.

2. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s) narrates from his predecessors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “O poor ones! Be happy. Allah’s pleasure is granted to your hearts. Allah will pay the price of your poverty. If you had not been poor there was no reward for you.”
