295. Reward of giving Sadaqah openly

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِیلَ بْنِ بَزِیعٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُذَافِرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ یَزِیدَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: صَدَقَهُ الْعَلَانِیَهِ تَدْفَعُ سَبْعِینَ نَوْعاً مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ وَ صَدَقَهُ السِّرِّ تُطْفِئُ غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ.


1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Ismail b. Bazee’ from Muhammad b. Adhafir from Umar b. Yazid from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “A Sadaqah given openly keeps away seventy calamities and giving Sadaqah secretly cools Allah’s anger.”
