Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِیمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ مَهْدِیٍّ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِی الْحَسَنِ الْأَوَّلِ ع قَالَ: مَنْ أَخْرَجَ زَکَاهَ مَالِهِ تَامّاً فَوَضَعَهَا فِی مَوْضِعِهَا لَمْ یُسْأَلْ مِنْ أَیْنَ اکْتَسَبَ مَالَهُ.

1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Yahya who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ahmad who said it was narrated to me by Abu Ishaq Ibrahim b. Hashim from al-Hassan b. Ali b. Fadhal from Mahdi a man from our companions from Abi al-Hassan the first (a.s.) who said: “One who takes out full Zakat from his wealth and disburses it in the proper manner would not be questioned from where he gathered his wealth.”

أَبِی ره حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِعَبْدٍ خَیْراً بَعَثَ إِلَیْهِ مَلَکاً مِنْ خُزَّانِ الْجَنَّهِ فَمَسَحَ صَدْرَهُ وَ یُسَخِّی نَفْسَهُ بِالزَّکَاهِ. وَ قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع فِی وَصِیَّتِهِ اللَّهَ اللَّهَ فِی الزَّکَاهِ فَإِنَّهَا تُطْفِئُ غَضَبَ رَبِّکُمْ.

2. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his father that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “Whenever Allah wants to offer something good to His slave He sends the angel who is the treasurer of Paradise to that person. That angel strokes the chest of that slave and he would get the virtue of paying Zakat.” Amirul Momineen (a.s.) says in his will, “By Allah, be careful about Zakat because it silences the anger of your Lord.”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ الْحُسَیْنِ السَّعْدَآبَادِیُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ حَصِّنُوا أَمْوَالَکُمْ بِالزَّکَاهِ وَ دَاوُوا مَرْضَاکُمْ بِالصَّدَقَهِ وَ مَا تَلِفَ مَالٌ فِی بَرٍّ وَ لَا بَحْرٍ إِلَّا بِمَنْعِ الزَّکَاهِ.

3. The narrator says that he heard Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) say, “Protect your wealth with the help of Zakat. Cure the sick among you with the help of Sadaqah. And no wealth is lost in land or sea except of the one who does not pay Zakat.”
