Al-Kāfi

1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ كَسَا أَخَاهُ كِسْوَةَ شِتَاءٍ أَوْ صَيْفٍ كَانَ حَقّاً عَلَى الله أَنْ يَكْسُوَهُ مِنْ ثِيَابِ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَنْ يُهَوِّنَ عَلَيْهِ سَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ وَأَنْ يُوَسِّعَ عَلَيْهِ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَأَنْ يَلْقَى الْمَلائِكَةَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ قَبْرِهِ بِالْبُشْرَى وَهُوَ قَوْلُ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي كِتَابِهِ وَتَتَلَقَّاهُمُ الْمَلائِكَةُ هذا يَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz from Jamil ibn Darraj from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “If a beleiver provides clothes for his brother (in belief) to use in winter or summer, it becomes a right with Allah to dress him with the dresses of paradise, to ease off the agony of death for him, make his grave greatly roomy. On coming out of his grave he meets the angels who give him the good news as Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘The angels will come to them with this glad news: ‘This is your day which was promised to you.’” (21:103)

2ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ كَسَا أَحَداً مِنْ فُقَرَاءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ثَوْباً مِنْ عُرْيٍ أَوْ أَعَانَهُ بِشَيْ‏ءٍ مِمَّا يَقُوتُهُ مِنْ مَعِيشَتِهِ وَكَّلَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهِ سَبْعَةَ آلافِ مَلَكٍ مِنَ الْمَلائِكَةِ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِكُلِّ ذَنْبٍ عَمِلَهُ إِلَى أَنْ يُنْفَخَ فِي الصُّورِ.

2. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Bakr ibn Salih from al-Hassan ibn Ali from ‘Abd Allah ibn Ja’far ibn Ibrahim from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Whoever provides a poor Muslim with clothes for covering and assists him in means of his living, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, as a reward assigns seven thousand angels to pray and ask forgiveness for him up to the time of sounding off of the trumpet (Day of Judgment) for every sin that he may have committed.”

3ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) مَنْ كَسَا أَحَداً مِنْ فُقَرَاءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ثَوْباً مِنْ عُرْيٍ أَوْ أَعَانَهُ بِشَيْ‏ءٍ مِمَّا يَقُوتُهُ مِنْ مَعِيشَتِهِ وَكَّلَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهِ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ مِنَ الْمَلائِكَةِ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِكُلِّ ذَنْبٍ عَمِلَهُ إِلَى أَنْ يُنْفَخَ فِي الصُّورِ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Safwan from abu Hamza from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever provides a poor Muslim with clothes for covering and assists him in means of his living, as reward Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, assigns seventy thousand angels to pray and ask forgiveness up to the time of the sounding of the trumpet (Day of Judgment) for every sin that he may have committed.’”

4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيهِما السَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ كَسَا مُؤْمِناً كَسَاهُ الله مِنَ الثِّيَابِ الْخُضْرِ وَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ لا يَزَالُ فِي ضَمَانِ الله مَا دَامَ عَلَيْهِ سِلْكٌ.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Ibrahim ibn ‘Umar from abu Hamza al-Thumali from Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) who has said the following: ’’Whoever provides clothes for a believer, for his reward Allah will dress him all in green.’ In another Hadith he said, ‘He will live under the protection of Allah as long as a fiber of that clothes is on him (believer).’”

5ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ مَنْ كَسَا مُؤْمِناً ثَوْباً مِنْ عُرْيٍ كَسَاهُ الله مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَمَنْ كَسَا مُؤْمِناً ثَوْباً مِنْ غِنًى لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي سِتْرٍ مِنَ الله مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الثَّوْبِ خِرْقَةٌ.

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Whoever provides clothes for a believer (while in need) for covering, Allah will dress up the former with Istabraq (a kind of fine clothing) of paradise. Whoever provides clothes for a believer (while he already has enough) for covering he will live under the protection of Allah as long as anything is left of that clothing.”
