80. Kissing

1ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْكُوفِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْسِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الْمِنْقَرِيِّ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ ظَبْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَنُوراً تُعْرَفُونَ بِهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا لَقِيَ أَخَاهُ قَبَّلَهُ فِي مَوْضِعِ النُّورِ مِنْ جَبْهَتِهِ.


1. Abu Ali al-Ash’ari has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Kufi from ‘Ubays ibn Hisham from al-Husayn ibn Ahmad al-Minqari from Yunus ibn Zabyan from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “In you there is a light by which you are identified in this world. It is as such that even when one of you meets his brother (in belief) he kisses him at the place of light in his forehead.”

2ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ لا يُقَبَّلُ رَأْسُ أَحَدٍ وَلا يَدُهُ إِلا يَدُ رَسُولِ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) أَوْ مَنْ أُرِيدَ بِهِ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه).


2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Rufa’ah ibn Musa from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “No one’s head or hand is kissed except those of the Messenger of Allah or one who is intended to be for the Messenger of Allah.”

3ـ عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ زَيْدٍ النَّرْسِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَزْيَدٍ صَاحِبِ السَّابِرِيِّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) فَتَنَاوَلْتُ يَدَهُ فَقَبَّلْتُهَا فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنَّهَا لا تَصْلُحُ إِلا لِنَبِيٍّ أَوْ وَصِيِّ نَبِيٍّ.


3. Ali has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Zayd al-Narsi from Ali ibn Mazid Sahib al-Sabiri who has said the following: “Once I went to see abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) and I held and kissed his hand and the Imam said, ‘This is only for the Holy Prophet or his successor.’”

4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَجَّالِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) نَاوِلْنِي يَدَكَ أُقَبِّلْهَا فَأَعْطَانِيهَا فَقُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ رَأْسَكَ فَفَعَلَ فَقَبَّلْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ رِجْلاكَ فَقَالَ أَقْسَمْتُ أَقْسَمْتُ أَقْسَمْتُ ثَلاثاً وَبَقِيَ شَيْ‏ءٌ وَبَقِيَ شَيْ‏ءٌ وَبَقِيَ شَيْ‏ءٌ.


4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Hajjal from Yunus ibn Ya’qub who has said the following: “Once I went to see abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) and I asked, ‘Can I kiss your hand, please?’ The Imam agreed and I kissed his hand. I then asked, ‘May Allah keep my soul in service for your cause, can I kiss your head, please?’ The Imam agreed and I kissed his head. Then I asked, ‘Can I kiss your feet, please?’ The Imam said, ‘You had vowed, you had vowed, you had vowed, three and one remains, one remains, and one remains.” (The Imam perhaps indicated that the narrator, in fact, had vowed to kiss the Imam’s (a) hand, (b) head and (c) feet).”’

5ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنِ الْعَمْرَكِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ قَبَّلَ لِلرَّحِمِ ذَا قَرَابَةٍ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ وَقُبْلَةُ الأخِ عَلَى الْخَدِّ وَقُبْلَةُ الإمَامِ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ.


5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from al-‘Amraki ibn Ali ibn Ja’far from abu al-Hassan (a.s.) who has said the following: “Whoever of the relatives kisses a relative out of compassion he has not committed any offense. A brother may kiss the cheek of his brother. Kissing an Imam is between his eyes.”

6ـ وَعَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي الصَّبَّاحِ مَوْلَى آلِ سَامٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ لَيْسَ الْقُبْلَةُ عَلَى الْفَمِ إِلا لِلزَّوْجَةِ أَوِ الْوَلَدِ الصَّغِيرِ.


6. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Muhammad ibn Sinan from abu al-Sabbah Mawla of Ale Sam from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Kissing on the mouth is only for the spouses and a small child.”
