Hadith.931 - Abu Basir asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq عليه السلام about the reason for why the prayer consists of two units (rak'ahs) with four prostrations (Sujood).
Imam عليه السلام replied: "Because one unit of standing (qiyam) is equivalent to two units of sitting."
It is said during the bowing (ruku'), "Subhana Rabbi al-Adheem wa Biḥamdih" (Glory be to my Lord عز وجل, the Most Great, and praise be to Him), and in the prostration, "Subhana Rabbi al-A’lā wa bihamdih" (Glory be to my Lord عز وجل, the Most High, and praise be to Him).
