Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us from Muhammad b. al-Husayn b. Abi'l Khattab from `Ali b. Asbat from his uncle Ya`qub b. Salim from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad . He said:

There are three whose goodness cannot ever be hoped for: (1) He who does not fear Allah in private, (2) he who does not become pious after old age, and (3) he who is not ashamed of his faults.
