1. Muhammad ibn Musa ibn al-Mutawakkil
narrated to me, saying: Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Sa'dabadi narrated to me from Ahmad ibn Abi Abdullah al-Barqi, who said: My father narrated to us from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr from Malik ibn Anas from Abu Abdullah , from his forefathers regarding the Prophet ﷺ:
"The poor came to the Messenger of Allah and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, the wealthy have what they can free as slaves, and we do not. They have what they can perform Hajj with, and we do not. They have what they can give in charity, and we do not. They have what they can struggle with in jihad, and we do not.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Whoever glorifies Allah a hundred times, it is better than freeing a hundred slaves; whoever praises Allah a hundred times, it is better than leading a hundred camels; whoever says "La ilaha illa Allah" a hundred times, is the best in deeds on that day, except for someone who does more.' The rich heard about this and did the same. The poor returned to the Prophet and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, the wealthy have heard what you said and are doing it too.' He replied, 'That is the favor of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great favor.'"
