A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Usman Bin Isa, from Abu Is’haq Al-Jurjany, who has narrated the following: Abu Abdullah has said that: ‘Allah (azwj) has Set a term for the one for whom He (azwj) Made to be in authority, and a time period of nights, and days, and years and months. So if they behave with justice among the people, Allah (azwj) Commands the Master of the Orbits to slow down the administration, so as to prolong their days, and their nights, and their years, and their months. And if they are tyrannous among the people and are unjust, Allah (azwj) Commands the Master of the Orbits to quicken its administration, so as to reduce their nights, and their days, and their years, and their months. And Allah (azwj) has Fulfilled for them the numbers of the nights and the months’.
