308. Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Al-Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Muqatil Bin Suleyman who said: I asked Abu Abdullah (a.s), ‘What was the length of Adam (a.s) when he (a.s) descended to the earth, and what was the length of Hawwa (a.s)?’ He (a.s) said: ‘We (a.s) found in the Book of Ali (a.s) Bin Abu Talib (a.s) that when Allah (azwj) Made Adam (a.s) and his (a.s) wife Hawwa (a.s) to the earth, his (a.s) legs were in its twin part of Al-Safa (Al-Marwa), and his (a.s) head was under the horizon of the sky, and he (a.s) complained to Allah (azwj) from the difficulty caused by the heat of the sun. So Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic Revealed unto Jibraeel (a.s) that Adam (a.s) had complained from the difficulty caused from the heat of the Sun. So he compressed him (a.s) with a compression and his (a.s) length became of seventy cubits, and he compressed Hawwa (a.s) with a compression, so her (a.s) length became of thirty five cubits’.
