مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جَنَاحٍ عَنْ مَوْلًى لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ دَعَا بِتَمْرٍ فَأَكَلَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بِي شَهْوَةٌ وَ لَكِنِّي أَكَلْتُ سَمَكاً ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ بَاتَ وَ فِي جَوْفِهِ سَمَكٌ لَمْ يُتْبِعْهُ بِتَمَرَاتٍ أَوْ عَسَلٍ لَمْ يَزَلْ عِرْقُ الْفَالِجِ يَضْرِبُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ .
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Sa‘id ibn Janah from a Mawla of abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once asked for dates and ate it; then said, ‘I have no appetite for it but it is because I just ate fish. He (the Imam) then said, ‘If one goes to sleep for the night and there is fish in his stomach after which he has not made a few dates or honey to follow it the vein of paralysis continues to beat on him until the morning.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ نُوحِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا أَكَلَ السَّمَكَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَ أَبْدِلْنَا بِهِ خَيْراً مِنْهُ .
2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Nuh ibn Shu’ayb from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, when eating fish would say, ’O Lord, make it a blessing for us and change it for us with what is better.’”
الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْهَمَذَانِيِّ عَنْ مُعَتِّبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَوْ قَالَ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ يَوْماً يَا مُعَتِّبُ اطْلُبْ لَنَا حِيتَاناً طَرِيَّةً فَإِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَحْتَجِمَ فَطَلَبْتُهَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ بِهَا فَقَالَ لِي يَا مُعَتِّبُ سَكْبِجْ لَنَا شَطْرَهَا وَ اشْوِ لَنَا شَطْرَهَا فَتَغَدَّى مِنْهَا وَ تَعَشَّى أَبُو الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) .
3. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Ali al-Hamadaniy from Mu‘attib who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, or abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, once said, ‘O Mu‘attib, order for us fresh fish; I want to apply cupping.’ I ordered fish and brought them. He (the Imam) said to me to cook for him (the Imam) a part of it and roast another part. He (the Imam) had lunch with it and abu al-Hassan had dinner with it.’” Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from (his father) and Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar from his father and Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah all from Muhammad ibn Ali al-Hamadaniy has narrated a similar Hadith.”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعاً عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْهَمَذَانِيِّ مِثْلَهُ .عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّمَكِ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ أَكَلْتَهُ بِغَيْرِ خُبْزٍ أَجْزَأَكَ وَ إِنْ أَكَلْتَهُ بِخُبْزٍ أَمْرَأَكَ .
4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘Umayr from Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd al-Hamid who has said the following: I once heard abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘You must eat fish; if you eat it without bread it is sufficient; and if you eat with bread it becomes more palatable for you.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْعَدَةَ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ الْيَسَعِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) لَا تُدْمِنُوا أَكْلَ السَّمَكِ فَإِنَّهُ يُذِيبُ الْجَسَدَ .
5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Harun ibn Muslim from Mas’adah ibn Sadaqah from ibn al-Yasa‘ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘Do not eat fish very often; it melts the body.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ أَكْلُ الْحِيتَانِ يُذِيبُ الْجِسْمَ .
6. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Eating fish melts the body.’”
سَهْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ السَّمَكُ الطَّرِيُّ يُذِيبُ الْجَسَدَ .
7. Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Hassan from Musa ibn Bakr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Eating fresh fish melts the body.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى رَفَعَهُ قَالَ السَّمَكُ الطَّرِيُّ يُذِيبُ شَحْمَ الْعَيْنِ .
8. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa in a marfu‘ manner has said the following: “He (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Fresh fish melts the fat of the eye.’”
سَهْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ السَّمَكُ الطَّرِيُّ يُذِيبُ شَحْمَ الْعَيْنَيْنِ .
9. Sahl ibn Ziyad has narrated from Ali ibn Hassan from Musa ibn Bakr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘Fresh fish melts the fat of the eyes.’”
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ كَتَبَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا إِلَى أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ ( عليه السلام ) يَشْكُو إِلَيْهِ دَماً وَ صَفْرَاءَ فَقَالَ إِذَا احْتَجَمْتُ هَاجَتِ الصَّفْرَاءُ وَ إِذَا أَخَّرْتُ الْحِجَامَةَ أَضَرَّنِي الدَّمُ فَمَا تَرَى فِي ذَلِكَ فَكَتَبَ ( عليه السلام ) احْتَجِمْ وَ كُلْ عَلَى أَثَرِ الْحِجَامَةِ سَمَكاً طَرِيّاً كَبَاباًقَالَ فَأَعَدْتُ عَلَيْهِ الْمَسْأَلَةَ بِعَيْنِهَا فَكَتَبَ ( عليه السلام ) احْتَجِمْ وَ كُلْ عَلَى أَثَرِ الْحِجَامَةِ سَمَكاً طَرِيّاً كَبَاباً بِمَاءٍ وَ مِلْحٍ قَالَ فَاسْتَعْمَلْتُ ذَلِكَ فَكُنْتُ فِي عَافِيَةٍ وَ صَارَ غِذَايَ .
10. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated the following: “Certain persons of our people once wrote to abu Muhammad, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, complaining about blood and yellowness, saying, ‘If I apply cupping, yellowness stirs up, when I delay it blood harms me, so what would you advise me in such case?’ He (the Imam), ‘Alayhi al-Salam, wrote, ‘Apply cupping and after cupping eat fresh fish as kabab.’ He (the narrator) has said, ‘I repeated exactly the same question to him (the Imam). He (the Imam) wrote, ‘Apply cupping and after cupping eat fresh fish as kabab with water and salt.’ He (the narrator) has said, ‘I followed the instruction and I lived in good health and it became my food.’”
