1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ شَرِيفِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ أَوْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ شَرِيفٍ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ أَبِي قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ لَمَّا أَقَامَ الْعَالِمُ الْجِدَارَ أَوْحَى اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى إِلَى مُوسَى (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَنِّي مُجَازِي الأبْنَاءِ بِسَعْيِ الآبَاءِ إِنْ خَيْراً فَخَيْرٌ وَإِنْ شَرّاً فَشَرٌّ لا تَزْنُوا فَتَزْنِيَ نِسَاؤُكُمْ وَمَنْ وَطِئَ فِرَاشَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ وُطِئَ فِرَاشُهُ كَمَا تَدِينُ تُدَانُ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from Sharif ibn Sabiq or a man from Sharif from al-Fadl ibn abu Qurrah who has said the following: “When the scholar built the wall Allah, most Blessed, most High, sent revelation to Moses that said, ‘I recompense sons for the hard works of the fathers, good recompense for good deeds and evil recompense for evil deeds. You must not commit fornication because fornication will be committed with your women. If one goes in the bed of a Muslim, someone will go in his bed as well. You will be recompensed as you provide recompense (as you sow so shall you reap).’” 

2- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ أَمَا يَخْشَى الَّذِينَ يَنْظُرُونَ فِي أَدْبَارِ النِّسَاءِ أَنْ يُبْتَلَوْا بِذَلِكَ فِي نِسَائِهِمْ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hisham ibn Salim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do you not fear, when looking at women’s behind, for your women being looked in the same way.’” 

3- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ مُفَضَّلٍ الْجُعْفِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) مَا أَقْبَحَ بِالرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَنْ يُرَى بِالْمَكَانِ الْمُعْوِرِ فَيُدْخَلَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى صَالِحِي أَصْحَابِنَا يَا مُفَضَّلُ أَتَدْرِي لِمَ قِيلَ مَنْ يَزْنِ يَوْماً يُزْنَ بِهِ قُلْتُ لا جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ قَالَ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ بَغِيٌّ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَكَانَ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ رَجُلٌ يُكْثِرُ الاخْتِلافَ إِلَيْهَا فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ مَا أَتَاهَا أَجْرَى اللهُ عَلَى لِسَانِهَا أَمَا إِنَّكَ سَتَرْجِعُ إِلَى أَهْلِكَ فَتَجِدُ مَعَهَا رَجُلا قَالَ فَخَرَجَ وَهُوَ خَبِيثُ النَّفْسِ فَدَخَلَ مَنْزِلَهُ غَيْرَ الْحَالِ الَّتِي كَانَ يَدْخُلُ بِهَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَكَانَ يَدْخُلُ بِإِذْنٍ فَدَخَلَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنٍ فَوَجَدَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ رَجُلا فَارْتَفَعَا إِلَى مُوسَى (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فَنَزَلَ جَبْرَئِيلُ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَلَى مُوسَى (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فَقَالَ يَا مُوسَى مَنْ يَزْنِ يَوْماً يُزْنَ بِهِ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِمَا فَقَالَ عِفُّوا تَعِفَّ نِسَاؤُكُمْ.

3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from his father from those whom he has mentioned from Mufaddal al-Ju‘fiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘How ugly of a man it is being seen in an imperfect (sinful) place, then impose it on us or the righteous ones of our people. O Mufaddal, do you know why it is said, ‘If one commits fornication one day it will be committed against him.’ I replied, ‘No, I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘In banu Israel, there was a female fornicator and a male fornicator who would go to her very often. The last time he went Allah made a certain expression to come through her tongue, “When you return to your wife you will find a man with her.” He came out with his soul turned filthy because of what she had said and entered his home in a different condition, without asking for permission as he would do before and found a man in his bed with his wife. They took their case to Moses and Jibril came to Moses saying, “O Moses, whoever commits fornication one day fornication is committed against him.” He looked at them and said, “Forgive, thus your wives will become chaste.’”” 

4- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ الْكُوفِيِّ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ جَمِيعاً عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ الدِّهْقَانِ عَنْ دُرُسْتَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ أَبِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) تَزَوَّجُوا إِلَى آلِ فُلانٍ فَإِنَّهُمْ عَفُّوا فَعَفَّتْ نِسَاؤُهُمْ وَلا تَزَوَّجُوا إِلَى آلِ فُلانٍ فَإِنَّهُمْ بَغَوْا فَبَغَتْ نِسَاؤُهُمْ وَقَالَ مَكْتُوبٌ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ أَنَا اللهُ قَاتِلُ الْقَاتِلِينَ وَمُفْقِرُ الزَّانِينَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لا تَزْنُوا فَتَزْنِيَ نِسَاؤُكُمْ كَمَا تَدِينُ تُدَانُ.

4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from abu al-‘Abbas al-Kufiy and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Amr ibn ‘ Uthman from ‘Abd Allah al-Dihqan from Durust from ‘Abd al-Hamid who has said the following: “The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Marry of the family of so and so because they have maintained chastity and so also their women have done and you must not marry of the family of so and so because they have transgressed and so also have their women done.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) has said, ‘It is written in the Torah, ‘I am Allah and I kill the killers and turn the fornicators poor. O people, you must not commit fornication because fornication will be committed with your women. As you recompense likewise you will receive recompense.’” 

5- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رِبَاطٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) بَرُّوا آبَاءَكُمْ يَبَرَّكُمْ أَبْنَاؤُكُمْ وَعِفُّوا عَنْ نِسَاءِ النَّاسِ تَعِفَّ نِسَاؤُكُمْ.

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Sinan from Ali ibn Ribat from ‘Ubayd ibn Zurarah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Be kind to your parents, your children will be kind to you, maintain chastity toward people’s women; your women will maintain chastity.’” 

6- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ يَرْفَعُهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْعَفَافِ وَتَرْكِ الْفُجُورِ.

6. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from certain persons of his people in a marfu’ manner who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘You must maintain chastity and you must stay away from sinful deeds.”’ 

7- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ مَيْمُونٍ الْقَدَّاحِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ عِبَادَةٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ عِفَّةِ بَطْنٍ وَفَرْجٍ. 

7. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Mu‘awiyah ibn Wahab from Maymun al-Qaddah who has said the following: “I once heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.), saying, ‘No worship is better than maintaining chastity in matters of one’s stomach and genitals organs.’”
