Lending Without Witness
3 Aḥadīth
Ḥadīth 1

1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَرْبَعَةٌ لا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ دَعْوَةٌ أَحَدُهُمْ رَجُلٌ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ فَأَدَانَهُ بِغَيْرِ بَيِّنَةٍ يَقُولُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَلَمْ آمُرْكَ بِالشَّهَادَةِ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from ‘Umar ibn abu ‘Asem who has said the following: “Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The prayers of four kinds of people are not heard and accepted, one is a man who has an asset which he gives to someone without the presence of any witness and Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, says, ‘Did I not command you to secure the witness?”’

Ḥadīth 2

2- أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَاصِمِيُّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ بَقَّاحٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُؤْمِنِ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَرْبَعَةٌ لا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ فَذَكَرَ الرَّابِعُ رَجُلٌ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ فَأَدَانَهُ بِغَيْرِ بَيِّنَةٍ فَيَقُولُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَلَمْ آمُرْكَ بِالشَّهَادَةِ.

2. Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-‘Asemiy has narrated from Ali ibn al-Hassan al-Tamimiy from ibn Baqqah from abu ‘Abd Allah al- Mu’min from ‘Ammar ibn abu ‘Asem who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The prayers of four kinds of people are not heard and accepted and he (the Imam) said that the fourth one is he who has an asset which he lends it to someone without the presence of witness and testimony; and Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, then says, “Did I not command you to secure witness and testimony.’””

Ḥadīth 3

3- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَعْدَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَنْ ذَهَبَ حَقُّهُ عَلَى غَيْرِ بَيِّنَةٍ لَمْ يُؤْجَرْ. مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَعْدَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) مِثْلَهُ.

3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn Ali from Musa ibn Sa‘dan from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Qasim from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One who loses his right just because of not having witnesses, does not receive any reward.’” Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Musa ibn Sa‘dan from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a similar Hadith.
