بي - رحمه الله - قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن ابن فضال رفعه إلى أبي جعفر عليه السلام قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: إن لإبليس كحلا ولعوقا وسعوطا فكحله النعاس، ولعوقه الكذب، وسعوطه الكبر.

My father, may Allah grant him mercy, said: We were told by Sa’d bin Abdullah, from Ahmad bin Muhammed, from Ibn Faddal, that he ascribed it to Abu Ja’far, peace be upon him, that he said: The Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, said: Indeed, for Iblees is a kohl, material he licks and a snuffle. His kohl is sleepiness, his material that he licks is lying and his snuffle is haughtiness.
