My father, may Allah grant him mercy, said: We were told by Sa’d bin Abdullah, from Muhammed bin Hussain, from Abu’l-Jawza’, from Hussain bin ‘Alwan, from ‘Amru bin Khalid, from Zaid bin Ali, from his fathers, peace be upon them, from Ali, peace be upon him, that he said: The Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, said: There is not in my nation any monks, nor travelers, nor decaying. Meaning silent.
