Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُوسَی بْنُ عِمْرَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ زَیْدٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی حَمْزَهَ عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع مُدْمِنُ الْخَمْرِ کَعَابِدِ الْوَثَنِ وَ النَّاصِبُ لآِلِ مُحَمَّدٍ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ وَ مَنْ أَشَرُّ مِنْ عَابِدِ الْوَثَنِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ شَارِبَ الْخَمْرِ تُدْرِکُهُ الشَّفَاعَهُ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَهِ وَ إِنَّ النَّاصِبَ لَوْ شَفَعَ فِیهِ أَهْلُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ لَمْ یُشَفَّعُوا.

1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ja’far who said it was narrated to me by Musa b. ’Imran from al-Hassan b. Zayd from Ali b. Abi Hamzah from Abi Basir who said: “A person who drinks alcohol excessively is like an idol worshipper and the enemy of the progeny of Muhammad is worse than him.” The narrator asked, “May I be sacrificed for you, why is he worse than an idol worshipper?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “The intercession of an alcoholic is possible at some point but even if all the creatures of the earth and the heavens unite to intercede for an enemy of Ahle Bayt, their intercession will not be accepted.”

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ یَزِیدَ عَنْ عُتْبَهَ بَیَّاعِ الْقَصَبِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِنَّ الْجَنَّهَ لَتَشْتَاقُ لِأَحِبَّاءِ عَلِیٍّ وَ تَشْتَدُّ ضَوْؤُهَا لِأَحِبَّاءِ عَلِیٍّ ع وَ هُمْ فِی الدُّنْیَا قَبْلَ أَنْ یَدْخُلُوهَا وَ إِنَّ النَّارَ تَتَغَیَّظُ وَ تَشْتَدُّ زَفِیرُهَا عَلَی أَعْدَاءِ عَلِیٍّ ع وَ هُمْ فِی الدُّنْیَا قَبْلَ أَنْ یَدْخُلُوهَا.

2. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his ancestors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “Paradise awaits the arrival of those who love Ali (a.s.) in this world and it awaits to increase the light for the lovers of Ali (a.s.). Similarly Hell awaits the enemies of Ali in this world with horrible sounds.”

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِیسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الدَّارِیُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِی نَصْرٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ الْقَمَّاطِ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ تَغْلِبَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع کُلُّ نَاصِبٍ وَ إِنْ تَعَبَّدَ وَ اجْتَهَدَ یَصِیرُ إِلَی أَهْلِ هَذِهِ الْآیَهِ- عامِلَهٌ ناصِبَهٌ تَصْلی ناراً حامِیَهً

3. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “The enemy of Ahle Bayt (a.s.) is an example of that verse that: Laboring, toiling. Entering into burning fire (of Hell).”

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِیمَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ [عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ] عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: لَیْسَ النَّاصِبُ مَنْ نَصَبَ لَنَا أَهْلَ الْبَیْتِ لِأَنَّکَ لَمْ تَجِدْ رَجُلًا یَقُولُ أَنَا النَّاصِبُ [أُبْغِضُ] مُحَمَّداً وَ آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ لَکِنَّ النَّاصِبَ مَنْ نَصَبَ لَکُمْ وَ هُوَ یَعْلَمُ أَنَّکُمْ تَتَوَالَوْنَا وَ أَنَّکُمْ مِنْ شِیعَتِنَا.

4. And from the previous chain from Muhammad b. Ahmad from Ibrahim b. Ishaq from Abdillah b. Hamad [Abdillah b. Sinan] from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “One who is inimical of we. Ahle Bayt (a.s.) is not a Nasibi because there is no such unfortunate person in this world who says that he is inimical and hateful to Muhammad and his progeny. Rather, Nasibi is one who has enmity with you because he knows that you love us and are our Shias.”

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَکْرٍ عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَعْیَنَ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: لَوْ أَنَّ کُلَّ مَلَکٍ خَلَقَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- وَ کُلَّ نَبِیٍّ بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ وَ کُلَّ صِدِّیقٍ وَ کُلَّ شَهِیدٍ شَفَعُوا فِی نَاصِبٍ لَنَا أَهْلَ الْبَیْتِ أَنْ یُخْرِجَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنَ النَّارِ مَا أَخْرَجَهُ اللَّهُ أَبَداً وَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ یَقُولُ فِی کِتَابِهِ- ماکِثِینَ فِیهِ أَبَداً

5. And from the previous chain from Abdillah b. Hamad from Abdillah b. Bakr from Hamran b. A’yan from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said: “Even if all angels created by Almighty Allah, all prophets, truthful ones and martyrs try to intercede for an enemy of Ahle Bayt (a.s.) so that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime takes him out of Hell, Allah will never take him out of Hell. And Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, says in the Holy Quran, “Staying in it (Hell) for ever.”22

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: مَنْ لَمْ یَعْرِفْ سُوءَ مَا أُوتِیَ إِلَیْنَا مِنْ ظُلْمِنَا وَ ذَهَابِ حَقِّنَا وَ مَا نُکِبْنَا بِهِ فَهُوَ شَرِیکُ مَنْ أَبَی إِلَیْنَا فِیمَا وَلَّیْنَاهُ.

6. And from the previous chain from Abdillah b. ’Amru b. Shimr from Jabir from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said: “One who is unaware of misbehavior and injustice to us and usurpation of our rights and does not think of them as wrong deeds, is a supporter of those who oppress us.”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الدَّارِیُّ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ سُلَیْمَانَ بْنِ رُشَیْدٍ رَفَعَهُ إِلَی أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی طَالِبٍ ع قَالَ: یُحْشَرُ الْمُرْجِئَهُ عُمْیَاناً وَ إِمَامُهُمْ أَعْمَی فَیَقُولُ بَعْضُ مَنْ یَرَاهُمْ مِنْ غَیْرِ أُمَّتِنَا مَا نَرَی أُمَّهَ مُحَمَّدٍ إِلَّا عُمْیَاناً فَیُقَالُ لَهُمْ لَیْسُوا مِنْ أُمَّهِ مُحَمَّدٍ إِنَّهُمْ بَدَّلُوا فَبُدِّلَ بِهِمْ وَ غَیَّرُوا فَغَیَّرْنَا بِهِمْ.

7. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ahmad who said it was narrated to me by Abu Abdillah al-Dari from Ali b. Sulayman b. Rasheed who raised it to Ameer al-Mumineen Ali b. Abi Talib (a.s.) who said: “The Murjiah people and their leader would be gathered blind and on seeing them the infidels would say that the whole Ummah of Muhammad is gathered blind. They will be told: These are not the followers of Muhammad. They had changed certain things and hence they themselves are changed now.”

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ کَثِیرٍ الْمَدَائِنِیِّ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِی سَعِیدٍ الْبَلْخِیِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ع یَقُولُ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِی کُلِّ وَقْتٍ صَلَاهً یُصَلِّیهَا مُصَلِّیهَا أَرْسَلَ اللَّهُ رَحْمَهً لِعِبَادِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ وَ الْمُعْتَقِدِینَ وَ فِی بَعْضِ هَذَا الْخَلْقِ یَلْعَنُهُمْ قَالَ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ وَ لِمَ قَالَ بِجُحُودِهِمْ حَقَّنَا وَ تَکْذِیبِهِمْ إِیَّانَا.

8. It is narrated that Imam Musa Kadhim (a.s.) said, “Just as Allah, the Mighty and Sublime showers mercy on His believing servants at the time of Prayers, He also curses some people.” He was asked, “Why are some people cursed?” He replied, “Because they deny our rights and falsify us.”

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَابِدٍ عَنْ أَبِی حُذَیْفَهَ [خَدِیجَهَ] عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: یُؤْتَی یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَهِ بِإِبْلِیسَ مَعَ مُضِلِّ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّهِ فِی زِمَامَیْنِ غِلَظُهُمَا مِثْلُ جَبَلِ أُحُدٍ فَیُسْحَبَانِ عَلَی وُجُوهِهِمَا فَیَنْسَدُّ بِهِمَا بَابٌ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ النَّارِ.

9. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Muhammad from al-Hassan b. Ali al-Washa from Ahmad b. ’Abid from Abi Hudhayfa [Khadija’] from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “On the Day of Judgment the cursed Iblees and the misguided people of the Ummah will be brought pulled by their nose. Their group will equal the size of Mt. Ohad. They will be thrown into Hell face down. By this, a door of Hell will be closed.”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبَّادُ بْنُ سُلَیْمَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُلَیْمَانَ الدَّیْلَمِیِّ عَنْ أَبِیهِ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع هَلْ أَتاکَ حَدِیثُ الْغاشِیَهِ قَالَ یَغْشَاهُمُ الْقَائِمُ ع بِالسَّیْفِ قَالَ قُلْتُ وُجُوهٌ یَوْمَئِذٍ خاشِعَهٌ قَالَ تَقُولُ خَاضِعَهٌ وَ لَا تُطِیقُ الِامْتِنَاعَ قَالَ قُلْتُ عامِلَهٌ قَالَ عَمِلَتْ بِغَیْرِ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قُلْتُ ناصِبَهٌ قَالَ نَصَبَتْ لِغَیْرِ وُلَاهِ الْأَمْرِ قَالَ قُلْتُ تَصْلی ناراً حامِیَهً قَالَ تَصْلَی نَارَ الْحَرْبِ فِی الدُّنْیَا عَلَی عَهْدِ الْقَائِمِ ع وَ فِی الْآخِرَهِ جَهَنَّمَ.

10. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar who said it was narrated to me by ’Abaad b. Sulayman from Muhammad b. Sulayman al-Daylami from his father who said: The narrator asked Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) the meaning of this verse: Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? Imam (a.s.) replied, “The Qaim of the progeny of Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) will destroy them with his sword.” The narrator asked, “What is the meaning of the verse: (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast? Imam (a.s.) replied, “It means that they will be humble and will not be able to fight.” The narrator asked, “What is the meaning of ‘Laboring’?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Their deeds will not be according to divine command.” The narrator asked, “What is meant by ‘toiling’?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Those appointed without the permission of the Imam and those who are not capable but were appointed as imams.” The narrator asked, “What is the meaning of ‘Entering into burning fire?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “They will face the battle of fire during the rule of the Qaim of the progeny of Muhammad and will become the fuel of the fire of Hell in the hereafter.”

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَاسِمِ الْحَضْرَمِیِّ عَنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَکَ وَ تَعَالَی جَعَلَ عَلِیّاً ع عَلَماً بَیْنَهُ وَ بَیْنَ خَلْقِهِ لَیْسَ بَیْنَهُمْ وَ بَیْنَهُ عَلَمٌ غَیْرُهُ فَمَنْ تَبِعَهُ کَانَ مُؤْمِناً وَ مَنْ جَحَدَهُ کَانَ کَافِراً وَ مَنْ شَکَّ فِیهِ کَانَ مُشْرِکاً.

11. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates that Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) said, “The Almighty Allah has made Ali (a.s.) a sign in His creation. There is no sign between Allah and His creatures except Ali (a.s.). Whoever obeys him will be considered a believer, his deniers are infidels and those who doubt in him are polytheists.”

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ ع قَالَ: عَلِیٌّ بَابُ الْهُدَی مَنْ خَالَفَهُ کَانَ کَافِراً وَ مَنْ أَنْکَرَهُ دَخَلَ النَّارَ.

12. And from the previous chain from Muhammad b. Ja’far from his father (a.s.) who said: “Ali is the door of guidance. Those who oppose him are infidels and his deniers are destined to Hell.”

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَبُو عِمْرَانَ الْأَرْمَنِیُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی حَمْزَهَ الْبَطَائِنِیِّ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ أَبِی الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ لَوْ جَحَدَ أَمِیرَ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع جَمِیعُ مَنْ فِی الْأَرْضِ لَعَذَّبَهُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِیعاً وَ أَدْخَلَهُمُ النَّارَ.

13. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “Even if all the creatures of this earth deny the love of Amirul Momineen (a.s.), Allah will send chastisement on all of them and throw everyone in Hell.”

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِیلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِی أَبِی عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ جَرِیرٍ الْبَجَلِیِّ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع جَاءَنِی ابْنُ عَمِّکَ کَأَنَّهُ أَعْرَابِیٌّ مَجْنُونٌ عَلَیْهِ إِزَارٌ وَ طَیْلَسَانٌ وَ نَعْلَاهُ فِی یَدِهِ فَقَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ قَوْماً یَقُولُونَ فِیکَ قُلْتُ لَهُ لَسْتَ عَرَبِیّاً قَالَ بَلَی قُلْتُ إِنَّ الْعَرَبَ لَا تُبْغِضُ عَلِیّاً ع قُلْتُ لَهُ لَعَلَّکَ مِمَّنْ یُکَذِّبُ بِالْحَوْضِ أَمَا وَ اللَّهِ لَئِنْ أَبْغَضْتَهُ ثُمَّ وَرَدْتَ عَلَی الْحَوْضِ لَتَمُوتَنَّ عَطَشاً.

14. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) told the narrator, “Your cousin came to me like a mad Bedouin wearing torn clothes. He had worn a sheet over that and was carrying shoes in his hands. He told me that some people talk about you. I asked him whether he was not an Arab? He replied that he was indeed an Arab. I told him: Arabs do not hate Ali (a.s.) and perhaps you are among those who deny the cistern of Kauthar. Beware! If you reach Kauthar with this hatred, you will indeed die thirsty.”

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ السُّلَمِیِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ ع قَالَ: نَزَلَ جَبْرَئِیلُ ع عَلَی النَّبِیِّ ص فَقَالَ یَا مُحَمَّدُ السَّلَامُ یُقْرِئُکَ السَّلَامَ وَ یَقُولُ مَا خَلَقْتُ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعَ وَ مَا فِیهِنَّ وَ الأرض [الْأَرَضِینَ] السَّبْعَ وَ مَا عَلَیْهِنَّ وَ مَا خَلَقْتُ مَوْضِعاً أَعْظَمَ مِنَ الرُّکْنِ وَ الْمَقَامِ وَ لَوْ أَنَّ عَبْداً دَعَانِی مُنْذُ خَلَقْتُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ ثُمَّ لَقِیَنِی جَاحِداً لِوَلَایَهِ عَلِیٍّ لَأَکْبَبْتُهُ فِی سَقَرَ.

15. And from the previous chain from Ahmad b. Abi Abdillah from Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Sulami from Ja’far b. Muhammad from his father (a.s.) who said: “O Muhammad! Peace be upon you, Allah has sent salutations to you. There is no place more superior in all seven heavens and everything present in them and all seven lands and everything present in them than rukn and maqaam. One who supplicates at this place from the time of creation of heavens and the earth but denies the love of Ali and later on meets Allah, He will surely throw that person in Hell.”

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی الْعَطَّارُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی إِبْرَاهِیمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُلَیْمَانَ الدَّیْلَمِیِّ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ قَیْسٍ بَیَّاعِ الزُّطِّیِّ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَی أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَقُلْتُ لَهُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ إِنَّ لِی جَاراً لَسْتُ أَنْتَبِهُ إِلَّا عَلَی صَوْتِهِ إِمَّا تَالِیاً کِتَاباً یَخْتِمُهُ أَوْ یُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قَالَ إِلَّا أَنْ یَکُونَ نَاصِبِیّاً فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ فِی السِّرِّ وَ الْعَلَانِیَهِ فَقِیلَ لِی إِنَّهُ مُجْتَمِعُ الْمَحَارِمِ قَالَ فَقَالَ یَا مَیْسَرَهُ یَعْرِفُ شَیْئاً مِمَّا أَنْتَ عَلَیْهِ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ فَحَجَجْتُ مِنْ قَابِلٍ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ لَا یَعْرِفُ شَیْئاً مِنْ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَی أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِخَبَرِ الرَّجُلِ فَقَالَ لِی مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ فِی الْعَامِ الْمَاضِی یَعْرِفُ شَیْئاً مِمَّا أَنْتَ عَلَیْهِ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ یَا مَیْسَرَهُ أَیُّ الْبِقَاعِ أَعْظَمُ حُرْمَهً قَالَ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ وَ ابْنُ رَسُولِهِ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ یَا مَیْسَرَهُ مَا بَیْنَ الرُّکْنِ وَ الْمَقَامِ رَوْضَهٌ مِنْ رِیَاضِ الْجَنَّهِ وَ اللَّهِ لَوْ أَنَّ عَبْداً عَمَّرَهُ اللَّهُ فِیمَا بَیْنَ الرُّکْنِ وَ الْمَقَامِ أَلْفَ عَامٍ وَ فِیمَا بَیْنَ الْقَبْرِ وَ الْمِنْبَرِ یَعْبُدُهُ أَلْفَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ ذُبِحَ عَلَی فِرَاشِهِ مَظْلُوماً کَمَا یُذْبَحُ الْکَبْشُ الْأَمْلَحُ ثُمَّ لَقِیَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِغَیْرِ وَلَایَتِنَا لَکَانَ حَقِیقاً عَلَی اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَنْ یُکِبَّهُ عَلَی مَنْخِرَیْهِ فِی نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ.

16. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Yahya al-’Attar from Muhammad b. Ahmad who said it was narrated to me by Ibrahim b. Ishaq from Muhammad b. Sulayman al-Daylami from his father from Qays Bayaa’ al-Zata who said: “O Maisar! There is one of the gardens of Paradise between the Rukn and Maqaam. Similarly there is one of the gardens of Paradise between the grave of the Holy Prophet and his pulpit. If the Almighty Allah prolongs the life of a person so that he prays between Rukn and Maqaam and between the grave of the Holy Prophet and the pulpit for one thousand years and if he is slaughtered like an animal by oppressors while he laid silently on his bed and if such a person meets Allah without our love, he deserves only that Allah throws him headlong into Hell.”

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ حَنَانِ بْنِ سَدِیرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْنَا أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع یَقُولُ إِنَّ عَدُوَّ عَلِیٍّ ع لَا یَخْرُجُ مِنَ الدُّنْیَا حَتَّی یَجْرَعَ جُرْعَهً مِنَ الْجَحِیمِ وَ قَالَ سَوَاءٌ عَلَی مَنْ خَالَفَ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ صَلَّی أَمْ صَامَ.

17. It is narrated that Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) said, “As soon as the enemy of Ali (a.s.) passes away from this world, he is made to drink a gulp of the boiling water of Hell. For one who is inimical to Ali (a.s.) there is no difference whether he is a worshipper or a fornicator.”

وَ فِی حَدِیثٍ آخَرَ قَالَ الصَّادِقُ ع النَّاصِبُ لَنَا أَهْلَ الْبَیْتِ لَا یُبَالِی صَامَ أَوْ صَلَّی أَوْ زَنَی أَوْ سَرَقَ إِنَّهُ فِی النَّارِ.

18. It is narrated that Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) said, “For the enemies of Ahle Bayt (a.s.) there is no difference whether they observe fast and offer prayers or they commit fornication and theft. In any case they are destined to Hell and they shall go to Hell.”

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ یَرْفَعُهُ إِلَی هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع سَبَّابَهٌ لِعَلِیٍّ ع قَالَ هُوَ وَ اللَّهِ حَلَالُ الدَّمِ لَوْ لَا أَنْ یَعُمَّ بِهِ بَرِیئاً قُلْتُ أَیُّ شَیْ ءٍ یَعُمُّ بِهِ بَرِیئاً قَالَ یُقْتَلُ مُؤْمِنٌ بِکَافِرٍ.

19. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah who raised it to Hisham b. Salim who said: The narrator asked Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) about one who imprecates Ali (a.s.). Imam (a.s.) replied, “I swear by Allah that it is permissible to kill him however doing so should not become a cause of death of an innocent human.” The narrator asked, “How can it become a cause of the death of an innocent?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “The death of that infidel should not be retaliated by the death of a believer.”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ یَرْفَعُهُ إِلَی سَعِیدٍ الْمُکَارِی عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع أَصْبَحَ عَدُوُّنَا عَلَی شَفَا حُفْرَهٍ قَدْ تَهَاوَتْ بِهِ فِی نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ فَتَعْساً لِأَهْلِ النَّارِ وَ بِئْسَ مَثْوَاهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ یَقُولُ- فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَی الْمُتَکَبِّرِینَ وَ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ یَقْصُرُ [عَنْ] حُبِّنَا بِخَیْرٍ إِلَّا جعل [جَعَلَهُ] اللَّهُ عِنْدَهُ.

20. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates that Amirul Momineen (a.s.) said, “Our enemy is standing at the edge of the pit of Hell and will surely enter Hell and the hellish will be destroyed. It is a bad place for them as Almighty Allah has said: so certainly evil is the dwelling place of the proud.28 There is no such person who is granted goodness by Allah and does not love us.”

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ یَرْفَعُهُ إِلَی أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ عَلِیٍّ الصَّائِغِ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ یَشْفَعُ لِحَمِیمِهِ وَ قَالَ ذَلِکَ مَعْلُومٌ إِلَّا أَنْ یَکُونَ نَاصِبِیّاً فَلَوْ شَفَعَ کُلُّ نَبِیٍّ مُرْسَلٍ وَ مَلَکٍ مُقَرَّبٍ فَمَا شُفِّعُوهُ.

21. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says that a believer can surely intercede for his friend except a nasibi because even if all the prophets, messengers and honored angels intercede for a nasibi, their intercession will not be accepted.

وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ حَمْزَهَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ لَیْثٍ الْمُرَادِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: إِنَّ نُوحاً ع حَمَلَ فِی السَّفِینَهِ الْکَلْبَ وَ الْخِنْزِیرَ وَ لَمْ یَحْمِلْ فِیهَا وَلَدَ الزِّنَاءِ وَ النَّاصِبُ شَرٌّ مِنْ وَلَدِ الزِّنَاءِ.

22. And from the previous chain from Muhammad b. Khalid from Hamzah b. Abdillah from Hisham (1) b. Sa’d from Abi Basir Layth al-Muradi from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates that Nuh (a.s.) took even dogs and pigs with him on the Ark but he did not take the illegitimate born; and the enemies of Ahle Bayt (a.s.) are even worse than illegitimate-borns.

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی الْعَطَّارُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ عُقْبَهَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبَانٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِیدِ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع إِنَّ لَنَا جَاراً یَنْتَهِکُ الْمَحَارِمَ کُلَّهَا حَتَّی إِنَّهُ لَیَدَعُ الصَّلَاهَ فَضْلًا فَقَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَ أَعْظَمَ ذَلِکَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَ لَا أُخْبِرُکَ بِمَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ قُلْتُ بَلَی قَالَ النَّاصِبُ لَنَا شَرٌّ مِنْهُ.

23. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Yahya al-’Attar from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Ibn Fadhal from Ali b. ’Uqba from ’Amru b. Aban from Abdul-Hameed who said: “One who is inimical to us is worse than that.”
