 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ یَعْقُوبَ بْنِ یَزِیدَ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ عُقْبَهَ عَنْ یُونُسَ بْنِ یَعْقُوبَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: الْإِثْمِدُ یَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَ یَقْطَعُ الدَّمْعَهَ وَ یُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ.

1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ya’qub b. Yazid from al-Hussain b. Ali b. Fadhal from Ali b. ’Uqba from Yunis b. Ya’qub from some of our companions from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “Surma improves eyesight, stops tears and helps hair growth.”

 حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِیٍّ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُقَاتِلٍ عَنْ أَبِی الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ع قَالَ: مَنْ کانَ یُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَ الْیَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْیَکْتَحِلْ.

2. It was narrated to me by Ahmad b. Ali from his father from Ali b. Muhammad from Abdillah b. Muqatil from Abi al-Hassan al-Ridha (a.s.) who said: “A person who has faith on Allah and the Day of Judgment would surely apply Antimony.”

 حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ عَمِیرَهَ عَنْ حَمْزَهَ بْنِ بَزِیعٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: الْکُحْلُ عِنْدَ النَّوْمِ أَمَانٌ مِنَ الْمَاءِ.

3. It was narrated to me by Ahmad b. Muhammad from his father from Muhammad b. Ahmad from Musa b. Ja’far from Musa b. ’Umayra from Hamzah b. Bazee’ from Ishaq b. ’Amir from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “Applying Antimony before going to bed stops watering of the eyes.”

 حَدَّثَنِی الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِیَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: الْکُحْلُ یُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ وَ یُجَفِّفُ الدَّمْعَهَ وَ یُعْذِبُ الرِّیقَ وَ یَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ.

4. It was narrated to me by al-Hassan b. Ahmad from his father from Muhammad b. Ahmad from Sahl b. Ziyad from Ibn Sinan from Hamad b. Uthman from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “Applying Antimony helps hair growth, tears dry up, spit thickens and eyesight improves.”
