 أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ مَعْرُوفِ بْنِ خَرَّبُوذَ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ یَقُولُ مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ یُصَابُ بِمُصِیبَهٍ فِی الدُّنْیَا فَیَسْتَرْجِعُ عِنْدَ مُصِیبَتِهِ حَتَّی تَفْجَأَهُ الْمُصِیبَهُ إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَا مَضَی مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ إِلَّا الْکَبَائِرَ الَّتِی أَوْجَبَ اللَّهُ عَلَیْهَا النَّارَ قَالَ وَ کُلَّمَا ذَکَرَ مُصِیبَهً فِیمَا یَسْتَقْبِلُ مِنْ عُمُرِهِ فَاسْتَرْجَعَ عِنْدَهَا وَ حَمِدَ اللَّهَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ کُلَّ ذَنْبٍ اکْتَسَبَهُ فِیمَا بَیْنَ الِاسْتِرْجَاعِ الْأَوَّلِ إِلَی الِاسْتِرْجَاعِ الثَّانِی إِلَّا الْکَبَائِرَ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ.

1.  Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) said, “If a believer faces a calamity in this world and utters Laa ilaaha illallaah, Allah will forgive all of his sins except the greater sins for which the  punishment  of  Hell  is  obligatory.  Utter  Laa  ilaaha illallaah  and glorify Allah whenever you are faced with a calamity in future. In this case Allah will forgive all the sins committed  between  two  utterances  (of  the  above  phrase) except greater sins.”

 وَ مِنْهُ أَیْضاً حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ سَیْفٍ عَنْ أَخِیهِ عَنْ أَبِیهِ سَیْفِ بْنِ عَمِیرَهَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مَنْ أُلْهِمَ الِاسْتِرْجَاعَ عِنْدَ الْمُصِیبَهِ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّهُ.

2. And from him too it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Ali b. Sayf from his brother from his father Sayf b. ’Umayra from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “When a person gets the inspiration of uttering Laa ilaaha illallaah at the time of calamity, Paradise becomes obligatory on him.”
